Rural Prosperity Nebraska and the Nebraska Extension Business School present a workshop series focused on entrepreneurship and best practices for new business owners. All sessions will be held in English and Spanish. The schedule is as follows:
May 7 - The Business Map: This workshop provides general information to individuals looking to start a new business in Nebraska. From registering the business name, licensing the business, obtaining insurance, or applying for a Sales Tax Number, this class offers tips and a checklist to make the process easier before, during, and after the business creation.
May 21 - Basic Bookkeeping and Apps: This basic bookkeeping workshop helps participants to gain an understanding of sales and use tax basics. We’ve put together the perfect prescription for sales tax beginners getting started with sales tax training. During the class, participants also gain information about using different techniques to organize and classify tax information using software applications such as QuickBooks, Wave, Square, or Excel.
May 28 - Forms and Business Vocabulary: This class is created to explain the different types of forms most used in business, including financial statements, employment hiring forms, tax types, and more. This resource provides clear and practical explanations to help business owners, employees, and entrepreneurs understand and correctly use essential business documents.
June 4 - Marketing: A basic marketing class focusing on Facebook and logo design will cover essential concepts to help businesses and individuals establish a strong brand presence online.
