Thomas’ expertise includes the integration of datasets from classical breeding to latest systems biology with in-depth understanding of proteomic, metabolomics to molecular genetics for crop productivity traits. She also works on the identification of natural genetic variation associated with abiotic stress tolerance traits in rice, design experiments to validate the function of the associated genes, using molecular biology tools and perform physiological assays to characterize the stress response, as well as understanding of plant molecular, cellular, and developmental biology in both model and crop species.
