Dr. Harini Sampath is an Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences at Rutgers University. The overarching goal of the Sampath lab is to delineate the cellular alterations that occur during the development of metabolic diseases, including fatty liver, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. They seek to identify pathways that can be targeted for nutritional and pharmaceutical therapies to preserve health and improve health outcomes. Her lab also has developed and demonstrated expertise in the use of novel mouse models to study aspects of lipid metabolism, inflammation, and the gut microbiome.
