Dr. Michael McCarville, Bayer Crop Science, Research Triangle Park, NC, will present the seminar, “Integrating Pests’ Management: How do we tackle the challenge of multiple stressors”.
Integrated pest management theory has focused mainly on how to most efficiently and sustainably manage a single pest. Plants, however, are challenged by multiple stressors simultaneously. Pest management recommendations will need to recognize this reality and develop practical management plans to best serve farmers. The soybean-soybean cyst nematode-soybean aphid system provides an opportunity to explore how better understanding plant-pest interactions can lead to more effective, efficient and sustainable management systems.
