Karma Larsen, (402) 472-7923,
Permaculture was founded in the 1970s as a direct response to the destructive forces of industrial agriculture. It is a holistic approach to land design and human culture guided by universal ethics of earthcare. Permaculture attempts to heal the effects of man’s destructive forces by integrating biology, ecology, building, gardening and community enhancement through sound design principles. Permaculture can be as small and simple as growing sprouts on a windowsill or as complex as running a farm or bioregion.

Presenters Gus Von Roenn of Omaha Permaculture and Graham Herbst of the Nebraska Forest Service will offer a primer on permaculture as an ideology and a practice, with tips for homeowners to use their yards more carefully and beneficially.
