The Kearney Outdoor EXPO is a large (free) event in which people can come learn about Nebraska’s natural resources, outdoor recreation opportunities, try many activities, and learn about wildlife and nature. Within the EXPO, we have a Kids Zone with numerous stations all focusing on engaging children (and their families) in outdoor and nature activities. We are focusing many of these kids activities on birds to go along with Nebraska’s International Migratory Bird Month. We would like to have stations to include:
- skulls & pelts of Nebraska mammals
- digging for bugs
- fossil dig
- track stamp books
- bean bag toss
- animal Olympic games
- sound wall of Nebraska wildlife
As always, I will provide all the supplies and will be there to help get all the stations set-up… I really need fun, enthusiastic volunteers who want to help share their love of nature with others! You can volunteer for the whole day (8:30am – 4:30pm (lunch provided) or you can volunteer for just the morning (8:30am – 12:30pm) or just the afternoon (12:30-4:30pm).
