Our once monthly brown bag lunch conversation is happening this Friday (7/13) at 12pm in Hardin Hall room 209. This month, Citlally Jimenez will be leading the conversation about her experiences on the search committee for the Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Inclusion. This will be an exciting opportunity to get a sense of UNL’s direction on diversity. Additionally, Citlally has some questions for those in the NRDI group to help guide the hiring decision-making (see below). Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Title: Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education: What do we really need?
Description: Earlier this year, UNL took a step to organize a search for a Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Inclusion, whom will begin their duties January 2019. I was asked to participate in the search committee, and so am asking the SNR and NRDI community for their thoughts on the following:
• Why is there a need for diversity and inclusion in higher education?
o Diversity and inclusion have entirely different meanings, how are they reconciled?
• What are the qualities we should seek in diversity and inclusion officers?
o What questions should I ask the UNL VC Diversity and Inclusion candidates?
o How should the candidates frame diversity and inclusion?
