Master Naturalist Reunion

8:00 am – 5:00 pm
This event is open to all Master Naturalists, Program Partners and friends and family of the program. If you are planning to attend please rsvp no later than Friday July 27th. Cost: $10 per person, per night. Payment will be made directly to Nature conservancy onsite.

We will be doing a float down the Niobrara on Saturday. The Master Naturalist Program has reserved 5 Solo Kayaks and 3 Tandem Kayaks. These reservations are first come first serve when you send in your rsvp. I will respond to you if they have been taken. Otherwise you can make your reservation with Prairie River Outfitters (Sunny Brook Camp) you must call 402-376-1887 to make reservations. We will be doing the 11:00am trip from Smith Falls to Nichols landing. This outfitter is owned and operated by a local Master Naturalists Shirley and Ron Winter.

Activities include:

Friday August 3rd:

11:00pm: Bison Tour led by Nature Conservancy Staff (Meet at Visitor Center)

Evening 6:00pm: Potluck, bring your favorite dish to share!

Fishing at Norden Chute (bring your own gear)

Campfire and night hike (weather permitting)

Saturday August 4th:

Morning: Bird Identification Hike Sunrise (apx 6:30am)

10am-4:00pm Morning: Kayaking From Smith Falls to Sunny Brook Camp , Return to TNC Headquarters by 4:00pm

6:00pm: Meal Provided, Grill Out: Brats, Hamburgers, Chicken, Veggie burgers, Please bring a Side, you can prepare it on site.

7:00pm: Speaker TBD

Sunday August 5th:

Optional Visit Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge

Other Info:

Both Bunk houses (10 Beds Each) will be available, if you would like to bring a tent you can also do that.
