The weekly KZUM radio “Garden Talk & Nature Walk” series with Bob Henrickson and Bertine Loop comes to Prairie Pines. Join them in the arboretum at 9:30 a.m. as they walk and talk about Prairie Pines big plant residents. The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum’s 40th Anniversary will be celebrated at the windmill following the walk with a tree planting demonstration and a short talk about tree selection. Children’s activities in Virginia’s Garden will be about the biggest plants out there – trees! Bring your lunch and enjoy complimentary watermelon courtesy of Fresh Thyme and listen to local musicians, the Lucky Possums from noon–2 p.m.
