Are you eager to share your best practices, projects, or expertise with a wider audience? Presenting at a conference is a powerful way to strengthen your skill set, grow your network, and advance your career, but writing a conference proposal can be an overwhelming and intimidating experience. This beginner-level workshop is designed to equip staff members with the knowledge and skills necessary to craft a persuasive and effective conference proposal.
Attendees will…
-Engage in a brainstorming and feedback process to generate topic ideas
-Learn how to compose clear learning objectives and a compelling program description
-Begin to build a strong conceptual framework for their topic
-Explore possibilities for collaboration
-Receive pro tips for experienced conference presenters
Upon completion of the “Present with Confidence” workshop, participants will be better equipped to confidently and effectively represent themselves and their organizations at conferences, contributing to the success of both individual careers and the institutions they represent.
Target Audience
-Interested in submitting a proposal for the UNL All-Staff Conference (or other professional conference).
-Beginners looking to submit their first proposal, or intermediate level looking to improve their proposal-writing skills.
-Anywhere in their proposal development process – from ‘no ideas yet’ to ‘final revisions stage’.
Click here to register for the workshop by December 1.
A second workshop will be held in the spring entitled “Present with Confidence: Strategies for Dynamic Presentations”. This workshop will equip those who are accepted to present with the essential skills and knowledge to deliver a successful conference presentation.
