Abstract:
Most would agree that research data must be capable of supporting study conclusions. Likewise, today it is expected that data from publically funded research are shared with and usable by those not involved in the original study. Yet, researchers receive little training in causes of data problems and methods to assure that data are of appropriate quality and reusable. Dr. Zozus will present cases of Data Gone Awry and discuss common data problems encountered in research settings. She will present corresponding remedies from many disciplines that together inform robust and pragmatic methods to assure the quality and reusability of research data.
