Throughout African-American history, there is one date that serves as a lens through which we can learn about key events that affect the black community: August 28. Join us as we recognize historically remarkable moments that continue to impact civil rights today.
Along with OASIS and the Institute for Ethnic Studies, the Center for Civic Engagement will host a poster display on the Nebraska Union Plaza of key moments that took place on this day throughout history. Check it out on Monday, August 28 from 11-1.
On Tuesday, August 29, OASIS will be hosting a Dish It Up! discussion over the lunch hour about these integral historical moments and how they affect current issues today. Stop by the OASIS Lounge in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center at 12PM to join the conversation.”
