Spend the break with a primer on gear and gear placements. You’ll climb to your heart’s content on quality granite and get an intro to the foundational skills of all things ‘trad’: making and evaluation of placements for cams and stoppers, establishing gear anchors, even trying your hand at a ‘mock’ lead placing gear on a few routes.

We will spend the days climbing and evenings enjoying some beautiful camping as we welcome spring weather. We will climb on the surprisingly quality granite of the Narrows and the larger Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The refuge houses 8,500 acres of wilderness and established herds of Bison and Longhorn. The Wichitas are known for their classic moderates among domes and crags reminiscent of Colorado and the front range. Come and explore this gem on the great plains.
