Run Challenge, Week 3: Half Marathon

Keep active and virtually connected to fellow Huskers with the FREE Run Challenge. Week 3 activity: Half Marathon (13.1 miles).

Two easy steps to register & participate:
1. Go to the IM Leagues portal and log in to your account*.
2. Scroll to RUNNING and click ‘signup’ to register yourself for the Half Marathon.

* Any UNL student/faculty/staff can create an account with their MyRED credentials.

From April 13 to April 19, participants need to use a run tracker app or device - like Garmin; Runkeeper; Map My Run; and Strava - to record a 13.1 mile walk/jog/run. You can complete the activity from any location. It doesn’t need to be completed all at one time, but must be done by midnight Sunday night April 19 to successfully finish the challenge.

After finishing, email a screen shot from your run tracker showing your mileage plus a photo from your run location to Intramural Sports will record your results. Send your Instagram handle too with your submission; you’ll be tagged if your photo is chosen.

On April 20, a winner will be selected from all the successful challengers and will receive an IM Sports Champion shirt.

Keep running & walking!
The challenge began April 6 and your mileage is cumulative. A new challenge is announced each subsequent week. Intramural Sports will track your overall mileage over the course of the entire running series—5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon—and crown an overall champion. You don’t have to stop at at each week’s listed distance. You keep running and reporting all your miles.
