Team-based Learning (TBL) is an evidence-based collaborative teaching and learning methodology that specifically sequences individual preparation and accountability, team work, immediate feedback, and in-class experiential and active learning principles to create a motivational framework in which students hold each other responsible for coming to class prepared to work and contribute to class discussion and activity. The TBL framework allows instructors to spend most of the in-class time focused on application of new knowledge based on effective learning objectives.
