DESCRIPTION:We all have regrets. When people tell you what they regret the 
 most\, they tell you what they value the most. This session combines insig
 ht from the World Regret Survey and research in social psychology\, neuros
 cience\, biology\, and workplace management to help us leverage regret as 
 a force for good. You’ll learn why regret makes us human and how it can 
 improve our decision-making skills\, boost performance\, and deepen our pe
 rsonal and professional relationships. A regret framework is offered to he
 lp us understand\, reflect\, and act on our regrets. Done right\, regret c
 an inform us and lift us up\, not drag us down.\n\nIndividuals attending t
 his session will\:\n- Learn about the psychology and impact of our regrets
 .\n- Discover the four core categories of regret.\n- Understand how regret
  can improve our decisions and boost performance.\n- Leverage regret to de
 epen relationships.\n- Learn how to manage regret and take action to use r
 egret as a force for good.\n\nPresented by\: Jordan Gonzales\, Staff Senat
 e President\, Senior Director of Alumni Engagement & Board Secretary\n\nBi
 ography\: Jordan Gonzales is a change agent and transformative higher educ
 ation leader. As the senior director of alumni engagement at the Nebraska 
 Alumni Association\, Jordan’s focus is to transform alumni pride and loy
 alty into action for the advancement of the University of Nebraska. He als
 o serves as a member of the alumni association’s Executive Leadership Te
 am and co-chairs the Culture Team. Jordan was appointed secretary to the o
 rganization’s independent Board of Directors in April 2024. He was elect
 ed president of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Staff Senate in July 20
 24\n\nJordan is a Ph.D. candidate at UNL and has published on higher educa
 tion leadership\, nonprofit management\, and strategic planning. He earned
  a master’s degree in higher education administration from UNL in 2017 a
 nd a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from UNK in 2012
 . As an undergraduate\, Jordan served as the student body president and st
 udent regent on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. He was also p
 resident of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and the Mortar Board Senior H
 onor Society.\nJordan is a fourth-generation Nebraskan. He grew up on a fa
 rm in the Nebraska panhandle and is a proud graduate of Morrill High Schoo
 l\, where he was a three-sport letter winner and served as study body pres
 ident. He currently resides in Omaha with his wife\, Ellen\, and their two
