In conjunction with the exhibition Pigment on Cloth: Tradition, Family, and the Art of Indian Pichvai Painting, the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery presents Pankaj Desai on tabla, a leading percussive instrument of the Hindustani or North Indian Classical Music form. This First Friday November 2 performance, accompanied by the sounds of another traditional instrument, the sarangi, will be in the traditional baithak style, wherein the audience and the artist are seated on the gallery floor in an informal and intimate setting.
