The regularity of solutions to differential equations is an important concept. Differential equations are often derived according to physics laws, for instance, conservation of energy. For solutions with high enough regularity, the physical invariant quantity can be shown to remain a constant. However, for a solution not sufficiently regular, the conservation law might be violated. We will discuss the regularity threshold for some fluid equations to conserve certain physical invariant quantities.
