Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County is presenting a Poverty Simulation to promote awareness and understanding of poverty through a role-play simulation experience of diverse family units navigating daily and weekly tasks while in poverty. The interactive program will be held on Monday, March 4, 8:30–11 a.m. at the Nebraska Extension in Lancaster County conference rooms, 444 Cherrycreek Rd, Suite A, Lincoln.
The intention of the poverty simulation is to increase understanding, dispel myths, transform perspectives and spark community change. The program could be a great professional development opportunity for organizations that interact with or serve people experiencing poverty.
Register by Feb. 28 at https://go.unl.edu/jw94. Cost is $10/person. Payment can be cash, check (payable to Lancaster County Extension) or debit/credit card (with a small fee).
