A day of educational sessions and live horse demonstrations is being held for those that are interested in Nebraska’s growing horse racing industry as well as all horse owners.
Topics covered at the event include gastric ulcers, genetic diversity of thoroughbreds, preparing mares for the breeding season, breeding methods used today, body condition scoring, and the latest news in Nebraska Horse Racing.
Speakers include University of Nebraska-Lincoln professor and extension horse specialist Dr. Kathy Anderson, Nebraska professor Dr. Jessica Petersen, Nebraska Equine Veterinary Clinic veterinarians Dr. Mike Black, Dr. Amy Cook, and Dr. Hayden Vosburg, Dave Anderson of Nebraska HPBA, and Clara Cross of Boehringer Ingelheim.
Cost at the door is $25, and $15 for UNL and DVM students. Both cash and checks will be accepted at the door. Lunch is included with your registration.
