Michelle White is a Curator at the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas. She has organized exhibitions such as Otabenga Jones and Associates, Imaginary Spaces, Leaps into the Void: Documents of Nouveau Realist Performance, Cy Twombly: Treatise on the Veil, and Vija Celmins: Death and Disaster, 1964—1966, which traveled to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She is the co-curator of the first retrospective of the drawings of Richard Serra that opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and traveled to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art before going to Houston in the spring of 2012.

White is currently organizing a drawing exhibition of works on paper by Lee Bontecou and is working with Claes Oldenburg on an exhibition called <i>Strange Eggs,</i> which will consist of early poems and collages by the artist from the late 1950s. She recently organized the commission for a film installation by Leslie Hewitt and Bradford Young with MCA Chicago and the Des Moines Art Center.

Formally regional editor of Art Lies: The Journal of Contemporary Art, White has contributed her writing to various art journals, including Art Papers, Flash Art, Modern Painters, and Gulf Coast Literary Journal, and she has written essays for exhibition catalogues published by the Foundation Beyeler, The Des Moines Art Center, and the University of Texas Press.

She received her B.A. at the University of California, San Diego and her M.A. in Art History from Tufts University.
