Keynote Speaker
Dr. Robert Brooke, University of Nebraska - Lincoln
Dr. Robert Brooke is a professor of English and the Director of the Nebraska Writing Project at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He has been working with place-conscious writing education for over two decades, in rural, urban, and suburban contexts. His 2003 book Rural Voices: Place Conscious Education and the Teaching of Writing has been used extensively in teacher institutes across the country. His current work explores the crucial problems of place conscious education in suburban settings, as described in his forthcoming collection Writing Suburban Citizenship: Place Conscious Education and the Conundrum of Suburbia.
