It’s Like This Out There is an evolving and in progress solo from Portland-based choreographer Danielle Ross. Beginning with a reflection on her experience sitting in the front row at the opening of her last work, Togetherness, It’s Like This Out There quickly shifted into an investigation into socialized systems that define and reinforce notions of success, tendencies around commentary and identification and the process of acting from impulse.

Danielle Ross is a Portland-based choreographer and performer. She received her BFA in Dance and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley. In Portland, she co-curates the poetry/dance/video series Pure Surface, is on the board of the Creative Music Guild and is a founding member of FRONT, a newspaper dedicated to contemporary dance. Ross has worked with Linda Austin, Dawn Stoppiello and Zoe|Juniper. Her solo It’s Like This Out There will be shown in Portland and the midwest in 2016.
