Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, associate professor, Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer and Allied Diseases, UNMC, will present the seminar entitled “Metabolic alterations facilitate survival under nutritional stress in pancreatic cancer” on Tues. September 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM in N172 Beadle Center.

Dr. Singh currently works on metabolic adaptations in cancer with special emphasis on pancreatic cancer. After completing his PhD in the field of pancreatic cancer, Dr. Singh pursued research in the field of metabolism as a postdoctoral researcher at the Salk Institute. Dr. Singh’s long-term goals are to identify/characterize new genes/therapeutic targets for effective clinical treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer. He is currently supported by funding from NCI, DoD, Nebraska state, and AACR. Just this year, he was the recipient of AACR-PANCan Career development Award, the first award of any sort from the foundation to anyone in Nebraska.
