Professor Hugh Possingham will be giving a special seminar at the School of Natural Resources entitled “Conservation macroeconomics: Optimal conservation outcomes require both restoration and protection.”

Government and non-government agencies are in charge of the allocation of billions of dollars for biodiversity conservation. In this talk he will show how the processes that they use to make these decisions could be dramatically improved.

Hugh is Director of an Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Environmental Decisions (ARC CEED www.ceed.edu.au) and an Australian Government National Environmental Research Program funded Hub - the NERP Environmental Decisions Hub – (www.nerpdecisions.edu.au).
