The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is an organization that contributes to the lives and health of Nebraskans every day. DHHS offers many services to provide the best care for Nebraskans such as educating and protecting people through public health activities, assisting the elderly, providing safety to abused or neglected children, and more. DHHS strives to live out their mission statement, “Helping people live better lives.”
The department has six divisions: Behavioral Health, Children and Family Services, Developmental Disabilities, Medicaid and Long-Term Care, Public Health, and Veterans’ Homes. DHHS offers a wide variety of career opportunities. No matter what educational background or experience you obtain, DHHS may have a job for you. Internships are offered to all majors at different levels and divisions within DHHS. Check out the DHHS website to find an internship that fits you.
The department offers internships to Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. Depending on the qualifications and tasks, DHHS will narrow their search to a more advanced and qualified audience.
