CICL 802 is a sequential class to CICL 801. Students will be instructed to build up more sophisticated Chinese language skills, particularly in reading, understanding, and writing some short Chinese poems and articles at their age appropriate levels. Students will memorize some commonly used words and characters selected from Chinese character corpus in order to prepare students for taking the Chinese Proficiency Test in the future. At the end of this semester, students will be able to use words, characters, and grammar points learned during classes to write some short articles, to recite and appreciate approximately four Chinese classical poems, and to master 100 more new Chinese characters.
