The 12 North Central states are encouraging all Extension faculty and staff to consider participating in this workshop and panel discussion. The April 3 workshop brings together eight national thought leaders, including our own Ken Cassman, to provide us with a foundation for understanding the challenge ahead for our food system. This will be followed on April 5 by a panel of 4 leaders from our Land Grant Universities in the north central region, including Ronnie Green, and USDA to discuss the implications of this issue for our land grant system including Cooperative Extension. This workshop and panel discussion will provide a starting point for planning discussions in Nebraska.

We encourage faculty and staff to make plans for gathering in small groups to view and discuss how this issue affects our future. The webinar and panel discussion will be video streamed over the web. Discussion questions will be suggested to help start your local discussion on this issue. Please make the arrangements in your office unit to participate together. In addition, Extension Administration and District Directors will soon discuss hosting of possible campus or regional forums for faculty.

More details will be shared in early March.
