Registration will begin ½ hour before start. The cost of the training is $30.00 payable the day of the training (Checks should be made payable to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln). You should have received a letter from the State Department of Ag reminding you of your permit expiration. If you bring that letter with you the day of the training, you will not need to fill out the application form.
Other options to receive your private pesticide license include:
Option 1: Complete the Nebraska Private Self-Study Manual for the Private Pesticide Application. The manual is available at the Box Butte County Extension Office. The fee is $60 per applicator.
Option 2: Take the online initial certification or recertification course. Purchase in the UNL Extension Marketplace by going to http://bit.ly/Hu7woR. The fee is $60 per applicator.
Option 3: Attend and participate in a Crop Production Clinic conducted by UNL Extension. Clinic fee is $60 per applicator ($60 online pre-registration or $75 at the door).
The state pesticide license fee is $25.00 for private applicators. Upon completion of your private pesticide applicator training, the Nebraska Department of Ag (NDA) will process your application and then send you a bill for the $25.00 state license fee. The license fee covers the three-year certification period. Upon receipt of the license fee payment, the NDA will issue your pesticide license card to you. All dollars collected by the NDA in license fees are transferred for use by the Nebraska Natural Resource Districts in their educational programs. Your NDA private pesticide license card is required for the purchase and use of restricted use pesticides for the production of Agricultural Commodities.
The Extension Office meeting room holds a maximum of 30 people per session. The first 30 to RSVP for each session will be given priority for that session. Please call the Box Butte County Extension Office at 762.5616 to RSVP for the training you will attend.
