Oct. 20 seminar at the University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center at Scottsbluff.
The speaker will be Dr. Mitchell Stephenson, Range and Forage Management Specialist at the Panhandle Center.
Rangelands cover more than 75 percent of the land area in the Panhandle and Sandhills of Nebraska, the area covered by the Panhandle Extension District. These rangelands are important sources of forage for livestock, habitat for wildlife, and recreation and aesthetic values for humans. Stephenson will discuss the role of rangeland in western Nebraska and some of the current research being conducted by UNL personnel to address some of the challenges faced on rangelands.
The seminar will begin at 3 p.m. It is free and open to the public
