Panel discussion to advance the discussion of how genre literature (particularly crime literature) is treated in academia. Since the department is regularly offering English 208 and given the recent publication of Joy Castro’s noir thriller (and the imminent release of the sequel), the time seems right to consider what value crime literature has in academia at large and in our department in particular. Perspectives will include representatives from fiction and creative writing, literature, and more.
