Stephen Behrendt, George Holmes Professor of English, will discuss the value of imagination and how a humanities-based education stimulates learning, curiosity and discovery. He explores the critical role the humanities play in addressing major societal challenges such as climate change, economics and social justice.
The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception follows, in the Centennial Room, and will kick off the Undergraduate Student Research and Creative Activities Poster Session, which will be held from 3:30-5:00 p.m.
