Courtney Santos, Director, Undergraduate Research & Fellowships, will guide students through the wide range of fellowship opportunities available in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Learn about eligibility criteria, application processes, and tips for crafting a strong application. Whether you are pursuing research, graduate studies, or career development in STEM fields, this webinar will provide the essential information and strategies to help you secure funding and advance your academic and professional goals.
We will discuss in detail several broad-based awards for STEM undergraduates and graduates, including: Goldwater Scholarship, National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates, NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program, Department of Defense SMART Scholarship, Fulbright U.S. Student Program, and the Churchill Scholarship. Advice provided in this webinar is also appropriate for students who may be interested in niche awards such as the National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship, Hertz Fellowships, Medical Scientist Training Programs (MSTP), NIH Undergraduate Scholarship, NOAA Hollings, the DAAD German Academic Exchange, Amgen Scholars, etc. although we will not be able to cover all such awards in detail.
This event is intended for currently enrolled UNL undergraduate students and alumni within one year of graduation with a bachelor’s degree. Staff, faculty, and graduate students who support undergraduate student success may observe the event.
This session is eligible for summer UCARE event participation credit.
Can’t attend live? This workshop will be recorded and posted to our website (https://fellowships.unl.edu/) within 1-2 weeks after the event.
