Recent research shows a strong tie between diabetes and the risk of heart disease. “Control Diabetes for Life” is a program that will help you learn how to control your diabetes with up-to-date information. The program will be Wednesday, November 30, at either 12:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. at the UNL Box Butte County Extension office, 415 Black Hills Ave., Alliance.

Topics to be discussed … Options for Control including Manage Your Medications, Weight Loss Surgery, Are there Good and Bad Carbs?, and Creative Casseroles, along with a question and answer period.

To register for “Control Your Diabetes for Life”, call the Extension office at 308-762-5616 by Monday, November 28 with the session you plan to attend. Nebraska School Food Service Association has approved this session for two hours of continuing education credits for food service staff who attend.
