Nebraska Extension Educator Natalia Bjorklund will conduct a training class for those interested in being part of the Nebraska Bee Survey. The survey is intended to determine what bees live in Nebraska. More than 4,000 different types of bees live in North America.
Bjorklund will discuss the equipment used to collect the bees, and the how, when and where to collect them. The training also will provide attendees with the protocol needed to document where the bees were collected.
This training is the beginning of a statewide program available to anyone interested in learning about pollinators, and their importance to our lives.
The training will take place at the University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center on Tuesday, April 14, from 1-3 p.m. There is no charge to attend.
Please pre-register by April 9, by calling 308-632-1230 or 308-632-1480, so organizers will know how much training material to have.
