The Economics Graduate Student Association (EGSA) begins a graduate seminar series starting Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Economics graduate students and professors will present results of their research, focusing on their experiences with the process of conducting academic research. The series also includes presentations on the different commonly used statistical packages by economists including STATA and MATLAB. Throughout the series, particular attention will be paid to the procedure of dissertation and research paper writing; thus, it may be beneficial for all College of Business Administration and Agricultural Economics PhD seeking graduate students.

Wednesday, February 13, Marianna Saenz, graduate student in Economics and Statistics will present her job market paper, “Gender effects on technology adaptation”, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in CBA 120. Saenz will present her paper as well as discuss the intricacies and pitfalls of working with the econometric techniques she employed. The seminar is free and the public is invited to attend. No RSVP is necessary.
