University of Nebraska Visiting Presidential Professor Jonathan Fineberg will present his final illustrated public lecture titled “Desire Lines in the Mind” at 5:30 pm, April 2nd at Sheldon Museum of Art. Fineberg is Gutsgell Professor of Art History Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Adjunct Curator of the Parrish Art Museum in Southhampton, N.Y.

The lecture will also be delivered in Omaha at KANEKO open space for your mind, 6:30 p.m., April 3rd.

University of Nebraska Presidential Professors serve as public scholars who enrich the cultural and educational life of the university and the state. In addition to his public lectures, which the university plans to publish in 2014, Fineberg will participate in graduate level seminars in art history and other activities at UNL and UNO. He will also spend time in the studio with MFA students and faculty, and will collaborate with neuroscientists and other researchers at UNMC during the 2012-13 academic year.
