The Trans-Nebraska Players will perform the feature piece of the concert: live music to the 1909 silent film They Would Elope, starring Mary Pickford. The music was composed by Maria Newman and arranged for the Trans-Nebraska Players by her as well.

Ms. Newman is the youngest child of the 9-time Oscar-winning film composer, Alfred Newman, and a friend of Mr. Potter’s. An all-star cast of musicians is on hand for the performance: Ann Chang, fortepiano, and Duane Bierman, percussion, will join the Trans-Nebraska Players. TNP members are Franziska Brech, flute (UNK), David Neely, violin (UNL), Clark Potter, viola (UNL), Noah Rogoff, cello (UNK) and James Margetts, piano (Chadron State College). Also on the program are Notturno for viola and fortepiano by Beethoven, Serenade for flute, violin and viola by Beethoven, Mozart flute quartet in D, and Tricinium for solo viola by Maurice Gardner.
