Call them stage bands, dance bands, big bands or jazz orchestras, whatever the name, the large jazz ensemble is as much a part of American history as it is music history. The Glenn Korff School of Music invites you to join the UNL Jazz Orchestra (Dr. Paul Haar, Director) and UNL Big Band (Patrick Brown, Director) for an evening of music paying tribute to the great big bands in jazz history. Enjoy music of: Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Charles, Thad Jones, Maria Schneider and more.
