The University of Nebraska College of Law Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law Program and University of Nebraska State Museum, Morrill Hall, are excited to partner for an event June 30th marking International Asteroid Day. Asteroid Day is a global awareness movement where people from around the world come together to learn about asteroids and what we can do to protect our planet, our families, communities, and future generations. Asteroid Day is held on June 30th to commemorate the anniversary of the 1908 Siberian Tunguska asteroid impact, the largest on Earth in recent history.

Nebraska Law Professor Frans von der Dunk, one of the original signatories to the Asteroid Day Declaration, will join the event via a live stream in the Mueller Planetarium to speak to guests about the efforts to protect the earth from asteroids.

Following Professor von der Dunk’s presentation will be the Mueller Planetarium Fulldome Show’s “Firefall” and “B612 Sentinal Program.”

Visitors attending this event will receive free admission to the museum for the coffee and presentation.

The College of Law Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law Program will also host a booth featuring Asteroid Day information on Thursday, June 25, at Archie’s Late Night Party at Morrill Hall.
