The Intercollegiate Choir Festival will take place in Kimball Recital Hall and Westbrook Recital Hall, Room 119, all day, Sunday, Sept 25. College choral ensembles from across Nebraska will participate in the festival.

The Nebraska Choral Directors Association (NCDA)-sponsored Nebraska Intercollegiate Choral Festival occurs every odd-number fall and is an opportunity for college choirs across the state to gather of a day and share music. This year’s clinician is Dr. James Rodde from Iowa State University. Rodde is the Louise Moen Endowed Chair in Music and Director of Choral Activities. He conducts the Iowa State Singers, the 140-voice Iowa Statesmen, and teaches choral conducting and literature. A native of Minneapolis, he received the Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Augsburg College and completed the MA and DMA degrees in Choral Conducting at the University of Iowa. The college choirs will each receive a clinic by Dr. Rodde and will concertize in the evening, 7pm, Kimball Recital Hall. The choirs will combine at the end in a version of the American classic “Amazing Grace” arranged by Mack Wilberg, the Music Director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
