Dr. Anthony Albano will present a seminar titled: Examining the Effectiveness of Collaborative Assessment Development in Higher Ed.

This presentation describes a project investigating the effectiveness of collaboration in the development of open assessments in higher education. Participating instructors from five institutions created learning objectives in three broad introductory subjects: macroeconomics, medical biology, and sociology. Instructors then developed and provided peer review on close to 3,000 questions. This presentation discusses some challenges and lessons learned, with a focus on feasibility, sustainability, and considerations of item quality and security.
