The TCBSQ will present a featured recital on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at Westbrook Recital Hall on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.They will be featuring an eclectic program of transcriptions, jazz work and original, classical works for the saxophone. The program will include works by: Vellones, Glazounov, Woods, Paich and an original transcription (performed from original manuscript) of a Bach Prelude and Fugue, arranged by the great Percy Grainger. The TCB Saxophone Quartet was formed in 2016 with a desire to share the beauty and with audience of all age. Paul Haar (soprano), Nick May (alto), Wade Howles (tenor), and Bobby Fuson(baritone) joined forces to create music with a renewed focus on melody and musical line. Thus, began a new saxophone quartet that is rooted in old traditions. TCBSQ uses their blend of resonant tone and virtuosic technique to bring a new appreciation to traditional repertoire, while building a new audience from those unfamiliar with the saxophone in a chamber setting. The ensemble is also charting new territory for the saxophone by commissioning new works from composers such as Daniel Baldwin and David Von Kampen.
