A new year means cleaning out the “oni”, which is Japanese for demons in our lives, and bringing in good luck for the future. Join us for a Setsubun Craft ‘N’ Sip, complete with tea samples and a chance to create your own oni mask. Guest teacher Lynette Fast works as a professional artist and teaches privately since her retirement as a teacher and an art department chair.
Painting Session: 3 PM-4 PM, Ubuntu Room
Bean Throw: 4:30 PM-5:30 PM, Kawasaki Reading Room

Later, hear a mini presentation about the rituals and lore surrounding this holiday and participate in a community “bean throw.” Don’t miss this chance to relax and have fun at this unique cultural celebration honoring the changing of the seasons.
