The Wind Ensemble concludes its season with a program titled, Flow. Join Conductor Tony Falcone with Graduate Assistant Conductor Sarah Aymond for works by John Adams, Ron Nelson, Scott McAllister and Michael Daugherty. Also featured will be the Nebraska Premiere of Quicksilver, Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Ensemble. University of Nebraska-Lincoln Associate Professor of Saxophone Dr. Paul Haar will serve as soloist, and Composer Stacy Garrop will be in residence for the performance. The Wind Ensemble was part of a Consortium Commission for the work.

The Wind Ensemble is the university’s premiere concert band. Its select mission is to provide instrumentalists of advanced technical proficiency a pre-professional ensemble experience. With an emphasis on contemporary American compositions, the Wind Ensemble’s repertoire reflects the most recent technical and textural innovations, as well as the rich tradition of wind and percussion music extending back to the Renaissance.

Adults $5; Students/Seniors $3
