Sam Keramati will present his thesis defense on “Partial Quantum Coherence, Ultrashort Electron Pulse Statistics, and a Plasmon-Enhanced Nanotip Emitter based on Metallized Optical Fibers.” Results of two related research projects will be discussed in this talk. The first project was initiated with the ultimate goal of observing quantum degeneracy pressure in ultrashort free electron pulses through the fermionic Hanbury Brown-Twiss effect.
