UNL Human Resources is offering training sessions for supervisors on completing the UNL Staff Employee Performance Evaluation form and how to have an effective evaluation meeting.
Learning Objectives:
• Purpose: Learn the purpose of a performance evaluation, just one of the tools for managing performance and how to think beyond the evaluation.
• Process: Learn the process of completing the form(s) and having the conversation – the employee self-assessment, supervisor assessment, approvals, meeting with the employee, and finalizing signatures and filing.
• Best Practices: Review and share best practice guidance on how to write meaningful and effective evaluations, SMART goal setting, handling difficult and unique situations, and legal compliance considerations.
This session covers general guidance on performance evaluations and how to complete the Performance Evaluation Form template provided by UNL Human Resources at https://hr.unl.edu/er/performance-management/.
NOTE: Supervisors in units using a different template or process are welcome to attend for the general guidance, however it’s advisable to connect with a unit HR representative for applicability.
