A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE (1951) Based on the play by Tennessee Williams, this renowned drama follows troubled schoolteacher Blanche DuBois (Vivien Leigh) as she leaves small-town Mississippi and moves to New Orleans to live with her sister, Stella (Kim Hunter), and Stella’s brutish husband, Stanley (Marlon Brando). Blanche’s presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict. (d. Elia Kazan | Rated PG | 2 hours, 2 min)
