We have open job announcements for current students interested in working at the Forest Service during their school breaks, beginning as early as next Spring. These positions are permanent, and students are eligible to continue their career at the Forest Service after graduation. We also have open job announcements for graduates with no experience, as well as experienced Land Surveyors and Survey Technicians. Anybody that is interested in learning more is invited to attend. If you are unable to attend, please contact Janet Wilkins, at janet.wilkins@usda.gov, to learn more about these opportunities.

Land Surveyors and Survey Technicians in the Forest Service, support the important work of the agency by locating and marking the boundaries of Forest Service System lands. We also identify land title issues, including trespass of buildings, debris, and unauthorized access. The Intermountain Region (R4) maintains an inventory of sophisticated GNSS and traditional survey equipment. We also utilize Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and capture aerial imagery in support of the Engineering and Fire Suppression programs, as well as other natural resource programs.
