Viruses are the most abundant biological entity on the planet.
However, viral diversity and taxonomy in the environment remains vastly unexplored. This presentation provides insight into the
ecology and stability of the human skin virome over time. Additionally, this presentation will describe the auxiliary metabolomic genes and antimicrobial resistant genes present in
the assembled virome contigs demonstrating that not only are viruses a core component of the skin microbiome but also play an important role in ecosystem function that may contribute to host fitness.
